Am I now on an automatic mailing list for when you sent out the first batch of 2010 Donational Indicators, because I could sure do with some trading instructions on how to use those indicators!

If you received the 2009 indicators and have questions feel free to post them in the 2009 Donational thread. Many of the 2009 indicators have a help screen built in. Set the SHOW.HELP input to TRUE.

TRO, I made the donation on 14 January 2010 and you sent me the 2009 indicators. The 2010 sample you show above has a pdf explanation on the indicator. I didn't receive any PDFs whatsoever on any of the 2009 indicators which makes it really difficult to know what the indicator is and what it's used for. You said to set the help input to true, but many of the indicators have no help input field at all, so I don't know whether they are a standalone indicator or whether they're to be used in conjunction with another indicator. Do you have any trading instructions for any of the 2009 indicators or am I supposed to donate again "for the calendar year" in order to receive these?

The 2009 indicators do not have a PDF. It is something I am doing because of so many request from users.

Many of the 2009 indicators have been asked about in posts. If you have questions post them in the 2009 Donational Indicator thread along with a chart showing the indicator in question, and I'll answer your question.

There is a text file that lists some of the 2009 indicators and what they do that you should have received.

HI Avery in regards to the new Rat statistics do we still use the statistical high as used in prev methods like the Rev9 to have an idea for when it is going to reverse. Ex: GU is above DH & WH and is still going , what would be a good indicator or anything else to help us know when the upward has run out of steam and is ready to reverse?? any ideas are appreciated

Look for the price to be at ATR or above the weekly open or daily open. That's when you can look for signs of reversal.

But it is better to find a pair below the weekly open to look for shorts and above the weekly open to look for longs BEFORE price moves ATR pips away.

The open is based on the D1 candle on your broker's platform. You can not set it.

I am thinking about using the previous week's closing price rather than the weekly open.

Actually, TRO2009_OpenDiff will plot user input time opens and tell you how far price is away from each open.

Thanks TRO. So how would I set this up if I live on the East Coast? I noticed you have settings for MST. I didn't understand "server time 14:00 = 0500 mst"

Kirk:

TRO2010_DW_COUNT_UI is NOT a trade trigger indicator. You use it to find an "edge".

To me, a STOP LOSS of more than 10 pips wastes money unless you have a teeny tiny position size.

1. using the Rat Plot (let's say green) and
2. combining that with the DW_COUNT_UI and
3. trade only above the "do not trade zone"; and
4. trading when the current price is above a level that would (statistically) payout at least 10 pips...
would this be an example of trading with an edge? Or do you execute Rat Trades even in the "do not trade zone"?

2. DW_COUNT_UI is not used for trading. It is used for statistical analysis.

4. I think you are confusing things.

1. / 3. Yes, only going long above the do not trade zone should improve your chances for profitable trades.

If I execute a rat reversal in the do not trade zone, I take my profits really quick.

TRO2010_FREQDIST_HHLL - displays a frequency distribution of the breakout ranges. User can specify number of breakout bars. Chart above shows 2 bar breakout. This indicator is used to analyze data to find an "edge" to trade and to optimize profit.

TRO2010_HHLL_BO - plots a dot when price breaks out. User can specify number of breakout bars. Chart above shows 2 bar breakout.

Post subject: Spread in pips on HL Histogram Indicator

TRO,

Recently my MT4 platform began displaying the information on the TRO2009_HL_Histogram indicator in an odd way.

Instead of reporting a spread of 3pips (e.g. GBPUSD) it now reports it as 25. And the histogram no longer appears relevant. It seems like maybe the decimal places (4 vs. 5) is creating an issue.

I have attached a screen print.

Please advise what I can do to get this indicator to display the info the way it used to display the info (based on 4 decimals).

the one where you can adjust how many candles to look at

If you donated in 2009 then you receive all indicators up to TRO2009

I see you are from Wisconsin. What big city are you close to? 25 years ago my wife and I drove through the beautiful rock formations.

If you ever have had an idea for an indicator or an EA, you could easily be charged 75 to 100 USD for an indi, and 300 to 500 USD for an EA. On top of this, I've found that a really good programmer is very hard to find, and TRO is better than a really good programmer and even more important, he is a trader, and know trading.

Hello TRO

Not sure how to ask this question, with the TRO2010_Pairs_Divergence and TRO2010_MM_Divergence, does the subsymbol / second pair have to be the same currency cross.. i.e. gbpusd & eurusd... but what about with usdchf - can that be eurusd or needs to be usdcad or usdjpy?

Most likely your broker has a suffix on the end of the pair usually a "m" or "fx". If that is the case, load that into the myAddition input.

The reasons I like it is because pipEASY's friend, Joe, sounds like a RAT TRADER and the Flying Buddhas indicate which direction to trade the daily open BUY ZONE.

Look at yesterday's candle and notice how price made a daily low that was less than 20 pips from the daily open, reversed, turned the daily candle green and kept going up. A RAT REVERSAL or BUY ZONE entry would have paid off BIG TIME. Today, trading long in the RAT ZONE and the BUY ZONE would have paid off again.

You'll see how the HATERS are still alive and well on Forex Factory. You can even see a veiled reference to TRO when someone mentioned RED RAT.

Always post a chart so others can SEE what YOU see.

Most likely, your broker has a suffix appended on the pair name. Usually, a "m" or "fx". If that's the case, put the suffix in the myAddition input in the indicator.

Would it be possible to add a Tail (pip)% average to the TRO_RANGE_GAUGE? I may not be interpreting tail %, in the gauge, properly either, so in other words, in a green rat instance, a gauge that would show pips per average of the bottom wicks? Thanks TRO, appreciate you,

Many thanks for these indicators, they are excellent and inspire lots of great thought and ideas.

I was wondering about a few items
1. Buy Zones - is there a way of having the indicator only display the Daily and Weekly Open lines (on a 1H or 15m chart) without any other information on the chart? Those lines seem to make for great support and resistance analysis. Especially given the recent Pip easy ideas you have introduced.

2. 3L ZZ Semafor - is there a way of coding one where the "3" only appears if the price is trading above the weekly open for longs / and below the weekly open for shorts?

3. DW Count UI - is there a way of coding an indicator that can track the Highs within a specified number of hours (e.g. 2 or 3hrs) based on whether price at a specific time (i.e. 6:30 AM) is trading above the daily open / vice versa for shorts? I ask because I wonder of the London breakouts have any sort of relationship (from a potential range exhaustion perspective) to how many pips above/below the daily open price is trading prior to the start of London trading.

4. MP HLC Pips - it would be cool if an additional column on this indicator added up the day's range based on teh H-L-C pip count.

5. Pairs Divergence and MM Divergence - can this indicator be set to EURUSD and USDCHF, or are the two pairs incompatible because of the base currency/terms currency difference?

I have a question regarding pin bar indicators, have you coded one for MT4 in the donational indicators in the past that allows the user to enter some settings. i.e. high-test pin bar = top tick at least 66% of candle, candle close in the bottom 33% of candle)?

Results are up to the trader. Yes, you can trade them any time and any time frame but, of course, some times works better than others.

Only if you make separate donations for each year.

RED 1, 2, 3 means a semafor is on the TOP of the current candle.

GREEN 1, 2, 3 means a semafor is on the BOTTOM of the current candle.

Of course, these refer to the 3_Level_ZZ_Semafor indicator. ZZ = Zig Zag.

TOP LINE: if the open is above or below the previous open.

NEXT LINE: if the high is above or below the previous high.

NEXT LINE: if the low is above or below the previous low.

BOTTOM LINE: if the close is above or below the previous close.

Can you RATS SEE a pattern?

TRO2010_MM_OHLC is a multimeter showing how the current open, high, low and close compares to the previous open, high, low and close.

The uncertainty indicators let you know when the buyers and sellers are uncertain. After they make up their minds, price usually moves quite a bit in one direction.

The gray boxes, bars or arrows indicate uncertainty.

Urgent for TRO:

kind TRO, I have a problem with the TRO2010_MPSM_MA, and I explain myself better. In (imput) of this indicators, I must insert in the field (symbols) the suffix (- fx), obliged from my broker. Within the panel of the imput, the line is absent (myAddition). I ask you the courtesy to insert the line " myAddition" within this indicator, otherwise, I cannot visualize the symbols, within the diagram. For courtesy, you can make if it with urgency. Yes, but when I upload the template TRO2010_mp_ytd there is no indicator attached to the chart (should be multi pair right?) and Ive only got the same picture which you attached in the pdf.

So in what years batch is Dashboard indicator "HLTrend"? I have 2010 DONATIONALS & it's not in that batch.

With the TRO2010_Multi_Meter_Internal & TRO2010_MP_Internal I have been using it on its default settings & using the MFI(Money flow index). I was wondering what parameters cause the indicator to changes colour? On M30 it can be reading 70 & yet still be red & yet on D1 reading 58 & be green.

HLTrend is not the name of the indicator. I don't remember the exact name. Since I posted it in 2009, I would think it is in the 2009 donationals. That was 2 years ago. Have written hundreds of indicators since then.

I think if the value is going up, it is green. If the value is going down, it is red.

If i understand the pdf right we shouldn't find any statistics in the range 0-0 because all days open equal or greater than weekly open !!!!!!

An idea come to my mind regarding TRO2010_DW_COUNT_UI Question

If you calculate the week starting from Monday statistics will be right , but if week starts with the small Sunday candle the problem still exist !!!

the shift function 1 means that the last candle excluded from Atr calculations

this means the last closed candle or the active candle !!!!!

i have admiral mt4 but some donational indicators don't work on their mt4 platforms "they have 2 platforms 4 and 5 digits"

Stick Print() in the code at various places until you find the problem.

MT5 has a nice debugger where you can step through the program and add watches...MT4 is more of a pain Smile
