Never heard them before.
I did some due diligence about, just for fun Wink
It's strange , this broker BTRFX isn't regulated at all by NFA nor is the related clearing house "Maximum Financial Investment Group" and mostly strange is that this user thecod is from Boston and this broker is called "Boston Trading and Research" (and this is his first post in the forum, coincidence ?). Moreover both sites comes with few useful information and mostly unprofessional (see here for reference http://www.maximumfinancial.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=3&id=7&Itemid=25)
I would be very very care about this , it's smells like a big scam.

Too good to be true.

Heck of a lure though: "MT4 variable spread broker."

just what I'm looking for, lol.

my own due diligence concerning MT4 and non-dealing desk reveals that it can be done. But that we are better off waiting for MT5 which will support all brokers -- according to one EFX webinar host. ETA: about 2 years

Of course I will still consider and look into any variable spread broker supporting MT4. Why is nobody doing this??? Especially with people like TRO going from forum to forum letting people know that there is an alternative to the fixed spread bandits. Now, if that alternative supported their MT4, that particular broker would do quite nicely.

Then of course they are also downloading the TRO_MT4 indicator package, or better yet the TRO_MT4 distribution setup for the variable spread broker and indicators already installed.

It just makes sense to me.

throw a banner ad on to forexfactory and there you have it

Maybe this explains it......

Boston Trading and Research LLC (?BTR?) will introduce qualified customer accounts to Maximum Financial Investment Group, Inc. (?Maximum Financial?), a registered broker-dealer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and member firm of FINRA. Maximum Financial will act as counterparty in all transactions for accounts introduced by BTR. This means that clients will buy and sell foreign currencies in transactions with Maximum Financial as principal.

Trading foreign exchange on margin carries a high level of risk, and may not be suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with foreign exchange trading, and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.

Normally, long-term traders do not trade during new events and they exit and enter at times when the market is quiet. This helps them to get a price that is in the lower range of the variable spread. But at the same time, though the trader enters the market during off-peak times with a variable spread, he would save money. But it is not clear where the price will be placed or headed next. Prices are invariably widened to the upper part of their ranges when the market is active and swift. But during off-peak times, trading becomes dull as the opening positions become expensive. Check: www.ISMARKETS.com for more professional advice.
